How to Use Creole Seasoning

Use Creole Seasoning to make Creole shrimp or shrimp and cheesy grits, both dishes that are very different than shrimp gumbo (a Cajun dish). Creole seasoning is excellent on catfish and other seafood as it is more delicate than Cajun seasoning and pairs better with fish.

Creole vs Cajun

Creole descends from French colonial settlers who occupied major cities such as New Orleans, whereas Cajun descends from a population of French-Canadian settlers who lived in rural areas. Both styles make use of cayenne pepper and peppercorns. Cajun lends towards stronger spices that blend into large one-pot dishes. Creole makes use of herbs and other delicate flavors.

What is in Creole Seasoning?

We use hand-blended paprika, onion, garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, black and white peppers, cayenne pepper, and celery seed to make our Creole Seasoning. We do not use salt or any other fillers.
